Quick Reference Dress Code
While clothing may be a personal choice, there are basic standards for dress in the Allensworth School District. Listed below are clothing, garments and accessories that are NOT permitted on campus or at any school activity.
- Strapless or backless clothing.
- Spaghetti straps are not appropriate; there is a one-inch minimum strap width for any clothing with straps.
- Spandex shorts, side-split shorts or extremely brief shorts, skirts and dresses.
- Tights or leggings must be worn with a skirt, shorts or a shirt that fully covers a student's backside.
- Blouses or shirts that are too short or made of a transparent or mesh material that would reveal a bare midriff.
- Spiked or studded belts, chain belts, wallet chains, handcuffs or sharp, heavy rings.
- Belts must be worn in their proper loops and not allowed to hang.
- Caps/Hats (when permitted) must be removed before entering a school building.
- Footwear must be worn at all school activities and should have a strap securing the ankle. (no flip-flops)
- Face painting or hair coloring with bright, unnatural colors.
- Pants must be worn at the natural waistline. Absolutely no underwear will be visible.
- Clothing bearing any of the following are not allowed:
Obscene or profane statements or pictures.
Statements advocating immoral, illegal, sexual or violent behavior.
Messages referring to death, violence, Satanism, racism or sex.
Messages of disrespect directed against the school, the law or other reasonable authority.
Statements advertising, Promoting, or picturing alcoholic beverages, tobacco or drugs.
Gang related clothing or symbols. Clothing predominantly of either red or blue colors are also prohibited.
